The annual Père Paul Lecture commemorates the scholarly work of Père Paul Feghali, also known as Abouna Boulos Feghali (1935-2020), and his significant contributions to international scholarship in Syriac, Greek, and Latin Christianity. Père Paul dedicated himself to providing the Arabic-speaking world with modern Arabic translations of the books of the Bible, biblical commentaries, reflections in Arabic, and Arabic translations of works composed by Syriac Church Fathers. The 2023 lecture is the inaugural event in this annual series under the auspices of The Hidden Pearl Institute and the Institute for the Study of Eastern Christianity at The Catholic University of America.
