Père Paul Scholarship for Eastern Christian Studies
To encourage and financially support young scholars in the field of Syriac Studies is the main goal of the Père Paul Scholarship for Eastern Christian Studies. The Hidden Pearl Press chooses, every year, two graduate students to award a modest monetary grant for manifesting excellence in their research. On September 19, 2023, The Hidden Pearl Press will announce the names of the first two students who will receive this gift.
Eligibility
Eligible candidates are PhD and Postdoctoral students who are:
- Enrolled in or recent graduates (within two years) of a PhD Program (or an equivalent program) at an accredited university,
- Working in the field of Syriac Studies,
- And in the writing phase of their dissertations.
Application Process
To apply, please email the following to Armando Elkhoury (elkhoury@thehiddenpearl.press):
- A 500-word letter showing why you should be considered for this grant,
- A 500-word summary of your dissertation proposal, including title, and 50-word indication of progress,
- Name, title, and email of your current dissertation supervisor,
- And a letter from your director of graduate studies to signify good standing in the program.
