About The Hidden Pearl Press

The Hidden Pearl Press is a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to publish books that promote, among others, the theology, spirituality, history, and liturgy of Eastern Churches. Furthermore, it endeavors to offer full scholarships to graduate students working in Eastern Christian Studies. The Hidden Pearl Press allocates a portion of its financial profits to meet that objective. Its first fruit is the establishment of the Père Paul Scholarship for Eastern Christian Studies.

Père Paul Scholarship
for Eastern Christian Studies

The goal of the Père Paul Scholarship for Eastern Christian Studies is to encourage and financially support young scholars in the field of Syriac Studies. Every year, The Hidden Pearl Press awards a modest monetary grant to graduate students who demonstrate excellence in their research. The Hidden Pearl Press will annually announce the names of the students who will receive this gift around September 19 at The Père Paul Symposium and Lecture.

Although The Hidden Pearl Press will initially grant scholarships to students in Syriac studies, it will award students who busy themselves researching, studying, and promoting any Eastern Church.

Syriac Treasures is another series published by the Hidden Pearl Press. Its purposes are twofold. Firstly, this series intends to translate the Syriac Christian heritage into contemporary English. Secondly, it aims to make these translations available to those thirsty for the Word of God in its Syriac interpretation. Casual readers will enjoy the richness of these timeless texts. Neophytes in the Syriac language will welcome the vocalized West Syriac (serto) script. Scholars will appreciate the quality of the translation since the translators remained faithful to the original-language texts but did not compromise on the quality of the English translation.
